The Dorothy Day Guild

A Woman of Conscience, a Saint for our Time

Make a Donation

We all know the story: how as news of Jesus’ teachings and deeds spread, his followers grew in number. How without adequate provisions to feed them, Jesus gathers five loaves and two fishes from a young boy in this large company, and after giving thanks to God, distributes them, managing to feed all who are hungry.

Dorothy Day embraced this story. She believed — as does the Guild forwarding her canonization — that in our doing of small things with love and faith, God will multiply our actions.

Please consider making a donation, however little (or conversely, however large!) Upon your request, we are happy to send a detailed case statement for your review.

Catholic Charities is currently assisting the Dorothy Day Guild with donations; you can insert any gift amount in the ‘Other’ box and indicate its frequency.

Most importantly, know that we always feel blessed by your generosity, prayers, and shared conviction: in Dorothy Day we have a saint for our time!

P.S.    All donations are tax deductible. In this respect, they differ from the non-deductible annual dues paid by Guild members. For more information on how to join the Guild, see Membership and How to Join. Our gratitude extends deep and wide to all.

P.P.S. Checks may also be sent to the Guild’s office: Dorothy Day Guild, 1011 First Avenue, Room 787, New York, NY 10022.

The article on Doris Day was excellent, an example of professional journalism at its very best, as well as a truly moving story of a woman of whom, to my own shame, I previously knew virtually nothing at all.
