If you believe in the significance of Dorothy Day's life, joining the Dorothy Day Guild is a direct way to show that you support the cause for her canonization. In turn, the steady growth of Guild membership points to the vitality of grassroots support for the cause and allows us to continue offering free programming and resources to promote Dorothy’s legacy of hospitality, voluntary poverty, and Gospel nonviolence.
Donations of any amount also help further our cause in Rome and facilitate the day-to-day operations of the Guild. Donations to the Dorothy Day Guild are tax-deductible. Thank you for your support!
Joining the Guild is the primary way to support the cause for Dorothy Day’s canonization. But there are other vital ways to be involved. You can participate by affirming the importance of her “cause” to people in your respective “pew” or community and more.
The Catholic Worker often used petitions to raise consciousness about a cause. The Guild accordingly has developed the following petition about Dorothy Day’s cause for sainthood. Petitions will become part of the documentation forwarded to the Vatican offices that oversee the canonization process.
A Woman of Conscience, a Saint for Our Time
